Cue Raw City, is Different Fountains' 3rd album, songs that emerged between 2012 and 2019 and existed in many forms and iterations since. The ‘final’ versions you’ll find on this LP are the latest files that could be rescued after a fatal hard drive crash. For better or worse the songs have been suddenly ‘finished’, all at once, due the lack of further editing possibilities. What weaves the selection together is a constant thread of mind wandering and intermittent thought fragments that permeates the album's phonetic content. Pop à la DF one could say. The album’s cover leaves us pondering in the nature of our thoughts, the condition of perception and the elasticity of meaning, questioning the lack or gain in functional states of curiosity.
